The obvious common case is that your opponent doesn't want to play. When they press the abort button you get the "aborted by server" message. There may be other reasons for the game being aborted (e.g., your network bandwidth or similar), but I'd guess that your opponents are just aborting the game.

every time i start a live chess match it says it was aborted by the server. anyone know what my problems is?
