I can recommend the classic chessmovie: "chess fever". I remember that Raoul Capablance participate in it. Just google on YouTube.

I understand the Pawn Sacrifice is worth the price of the ticket.

The Luzhin Defense is a very good film indeed.

Also, La Diagonale du fou is a film I enjoyed, as well as another french one:

La joueuse (Queen to play). I think you might like them.

Diakonia

Life of a King is very good, and highly worth watching.

I think that 1984 film has also appeared with the title, Dangerous Moves. The plot details are mostly taken from the 1978 and 1981 world championship matches. If one also counts documentaries, then one can consider things like the 2012 film, Brooklyn Castle.

Searching for Bobby Fischer (1993) is about a young Josh Waitzkin struggling with his talent for the game.

I didn't see Pawn Sacrifice (2015) yet but I definitely will.

Knights of the South Bronx (2005) is about a high school class being taught chess by a substitute teacher.

Brooklyn Castle (2012) is a nice film/documentary about a chess class being trained towards their way of winning the national title.

These are movies I know of and have seen (or will see).

Queen to Play, about a housecleaner for a chess teacher (Kevin Kline) who learns to play and wins a tournament. Loved it.

Life of a King, which I just put on my Netflix list, is about an ex-con who teaches chess to troubled youth. It was rated 4 1/2 stars.
