Chess Nazi’s

RetGuvvie98, the remark you made, "There are few enough Chess coaches (like You) actually concerned about imparting chess knowledge to kids - most I've met are only interested in skimming as much money as possible from the market," obviously excludes me, from the skimming group. I was merely replying that I am less in need than some others to belong to that group. Many who depend on chess for a living are under pressure. As you say, you do not know me, so, I assumed the exclusion was due to that or an assumption or a courtesy or a value judgment based on what I write to impart knowledge. It is probably proper that you have not mentioned the names of the individuals you mean. One does get curious, though.

I have an old Drucke "double weighted" set which i prize. i like the feel of weighted pieces. I'm " low maintenance" easy to please.

It is time to get a Chess Nazi club going so they can show their faces and then we can kick the ----out of them or we could just forget about them and play chess:-)

Wow. So many thoughts in such a short thread.
First, like Polar_Bear, I thought this was a thread about, well, Nazi chess.
Second, like Anarkand, I find the use of the term Nazi ,though trendy, inappropriate - just as it's usually inappropriately applied in most other instances. Fascist would indeed be better if it applied - which it doesn't. That someone expresses a certain dogmatism or strong objection/adherence to certain concepts doesn't seem to make him either a Nazi or a Fascist, not even metaphorically. Not even the idea of following rules or orders blindly seems to apply. Now, if they tried to impose that dogmatism on a group of people, clearly impossible here, then there might be a case for some comparison.
Third, I also learned a new word - thanks to wormrose - frippery, which I discovered means bagatelle.
wow yet again you are complaining about popinjays forums.
