What's the best video illustrations on all sorts of openings of both Whites and Blacks and their respective counter openings?

I paid around $35 for the "Chess King's Guide to Opening Ideas", a 3 volume DVD set by Steve Lopez, and it's my first resource when I come up against something new.  Nice breezy, "nothing but the facts" presentation.  It only hits the most popular variations and doesn't go more than 8 or 10 moves deep, but is a great intro IMHO.  If you buy it on Ebay, as I did, it's a little cheaper than the main ChessKing site.

There are all sorts of videos on Youtube, but the best way is to play correspondence chess and use an opening explorer to learn which openings/defenses work for you and which ones you like.

A free opening explorer is: www.365chess.com

That web-site is my usual reference, yes. Don't put too much faith in the winning percentages, though. Remember that when a variation gets refuted, people will stop playing it... so the percentages will only reflect the status-quo BEFORE the refutation was found.
