Chess Park was a better service

When you go in there, if you click on a members name, then on 'observe' you can watch their games if they are playing. Or use the friends tab and watch friends games.
That used to work, but Sir-G is correct that it doesn't work now. Perhaps it works for Admins, but we can no longer see who is online unless they chat, are friends, or issue an open seek.

We shoul have a team match with chess.com members vs chesspark.com members to see who is really better.

Personally, I feel for the transplanted chess-parkers. I was 'deepgreene' there too, but I didn't actually play there very much. I prefer chess.com, but there were some very nice things about the 'park' that I'm sure their users will miss - variants for sure, and a very mature live-chess system. I can appreciate how folks would prefer that site to this one, even if I didn't share that preference personally.
I'm just imagining how I'd feel if I went to log in to chess.com one sunny morning and ended up auto-magically logged into chesscube or RHP... not good, even with due respect to the merits of those sites. It's truly excellent that chess.com is in a position to provide some value to paying members of the former chesspark community.. but it's still not the product they paid for, the community they were a part of (bigger isn't necessarily better there), or the chess site they loved.
I hope that most (at least) of the CP crowd acclimatizes and comes to love chess.com, and I hope they band together to encourage, cajole, or otherwise strong-arm our fearless leaders into providing some of the same (new to us) features that made the Park such a great place to meet and play chess. (Has anyone set up a Group for ChessPark immigrants yet? :-)
My second hope is that I never have to adjust to a similar transplantation myself.

Well said, and I share those sentiments

DeepG,
Perhaps you should start a group for Chesspark refugees and go to battle in team matches.

I agree it's a cool idea for a group, but I'm sure someone who actually contributed to the chesspark community would be better suited to the task. I was, at best, an occasional lurker.

So, there is or there isn't a way to watch other people's games? and if there is a way, how I can filter them to see only the ones that are 1,5, 10 or 15 minute game?
thx
It seems that function was recently removed, but it is planned to make a come back.

I understand that on chess.com lot of player, and on the other good livechess ( I dont write here competitor) , but here and there about 5-7 offer for game 1-10 minutes, on chesspark wast at least 20-30

1) Chess.com will change and improve as time goes on. Patience will be rewarded, I believe.
2) As chessplayers we all know that we have to make the best of the position we find ourselves in. This applies to the chesspark>chess.com change. Is there anything better to do anyway? I can't think of anything apart from playing chess in another place. If you like forum talk, here is where you find the most variety, most volume, and great quality.

I could not agree more with Sir Galahad. This chess.com site looks more well decorated, but confusing and hopelessly lacks in substance. I started my first game out here(with white), but can you imagine my frustration, when I simply could not castle. I moved my king from e1 to g1, but it was taked as an illegal move. Then I moved my rook from h1 to f1, but the king stood still at e1. Now it's upon anybody's imagination how my plan messed up. Besides I could not see the knights somewhere, sometimes the bishops looked like pawns and innumerable such things. I am really sad.

I reviewed your game and you could not castle because your opponent's Bishop was guarding that square so it is illegal to castle. You should probably change your browser if you can't see the pieces or get a better internet connection if possible. You'll soon get the hang of chess.com and I don't understand what you mean by "lacks in substance".
ADK

I can understand that people are upset, a service they liked and possibly paid for is not there anymore.
But to be upset at chess.com makes no sense, it offers them something where they would have had nothing. It is not the fault of chess.com that chesspark went belly-up, there is no sinister conspiracy to deprive them of their favourite interface. We all want to play chess, I sincerely hope that the majority of chesspark players feel they can do it here, hey, it's not so bad.

I was surprice to learn that Chess Park and Chess.com have merged to one.
I was a Premium member since 2008, but nobody notify me by email about this merger.
Both site I am register chess player.
I just want to WELCOME all Ex-Chess Park player, give some time to this site and you will like it to.
All the best to all Ex-Chess park players and see at the Board.

It seems that there are two:

http://www.chess.com/groups/view/chesspark

I was a Chesspark player too. As a matter of explanation to you Chess.com guys, Chesspark had a nice feature where you could view any live game as it was in progress. (I'm referring to "live" games, as opposed to correspondence). You could see a list of games currently being played by members, click on the game, and view it in real time. You couldn't chat with the players while they were playing, but you could chat with other watchers. It was a very nice feature and really helpful to new members and beginning players.
That aside, Chesspark wasn't a very friendly place to play a game and the moderators were sometimes not very pleasant either. I'm looking forward to playing here and hope to see you all across the board. Thanks! Norm.

Keep in mind that Chess.com was the one that covered chessparks glaring managment errors, at some expense to themselves.
Maybe if you hang out here for a little longer you'll find that this really is the best chess site on the internet (and I play at pretty much all of them).
Best regards,
Matt
Except the one where you got banned for cheating.
