How to improve in chess

Well if u ask it that way then everybody is gonna say yes, I saw the checkmate. But that's only because someone told them first. If nobody had told them, and they encountered that opening in an actual game, chances are they wouldn't know about the checkmate.

This is about chess openings,not about bets,love,etc.

i recommend you to play open line games to train lots of tactics, for example for someone learning i dont recommend a petrov or something like that, most people dont have style, they are just plain bad at tactics so they call themself positional, dont fall for that, well at least on our level, mostly club or something.

As already some people have said follow the principals(like center, space, development), you will find sense in the opening moves, and understand why they are more theoretical than sidelines without advantage.

That's pretty messed up using the photo of some poor runaway girl as an avatar. Sick is what it is....

either she is using a computer or her opponents are REALLY dumb! i seriously don't know how she got to 1200, or beat a 1500 player. i can tell you right now that I would not (at least if she uses her crazy strategies) lose unless i went crazy or she used a computer. She and SebLeb are the talk of the forums. i wouldn't want to be in their place!

Ironman111 sorry we are kinda messing up your thread! A suggestion is that you try say studying The Ruy Lopez and play it for a week. If you like it, then you can play it. If you dont' try something else for white. You will need a good knowledge of openings if you want to improve a lot.

Nope, I've seen accounts get banned after they "beat" me, and there is no compensation.  Who really cares though, its a chess rating from an internet site, ya know?
