i am looking for people to play against.. never played in a club or joined a club.. would like to but dont know where to begin.

Here are a few easy steps you can try:
1. Play Games Instantly Head to Play and click “New Game.” The site will match you with someone around your level, and you can adjust the time controls (like 10|5 or 15|10 for casual rapid games).
2. Join a Club There are thousands of clubs, big and small. Go to Clubs and browse by interest, region, or play style. Some clubs are super welcoming to new members and even host regular tournaments and team matches.
3. Try Daily Chess. If you're not ready for live games, Daily lets you make moves over several days. Great for slower-paced learning and meeting players.
4. Message People or Post in Forums. Just like you're doing now, messaging (respectfully) in forums is a great way to meet players. You could even post in the Clubs & Teams Forum to find beginner-friendly groups.
