I played tactically through the '70s and '80s. I sucked at that too.

dashing piece sacrifices followed by daring king sacrifices.... but hey, i have fun.

Avatar of marvellosity

Straight-forward and reasonably aggressive.

I haven't got the skill to be subtle.

I go for closed, positional...um...positions most of the time, except occasionally I'll see a sacrifice or tactical combination that "feels" good and I'll just go for it.

Oh, and also, I notice that against players of similar rating I usually win material in the opening-to-middlegame (both with or without positional compensation) then I play defensively and exchange off pieces as much as possible to consolidate the advantage. Of course, it doesn't always work. XD

i prefer open attacking games, but that's not to say i'm good at them.

Avatar of Jason112

I play according to the position , but mainly i prefer aggressive attacking chess.

Avatar of jdilley

I don't have a style, and I doubt anyone under 2000 does.  What we have is a set of weaknesses.

Counter-intuitively following the Rhondha valley school of counter-intuitivismismism.

Avatar of TheGrobe

Wouldn't a true counterintuitivist follow a school of intuitivism?
