You can setup positions in the analysis board and play against the computer, I don't think you can tell it to play a certain way though. Otherwise chessable has courses on specific openings, but it's more of you learning the correct moves, it won't let you make wrong moves.
Chess programm to play with specified openings
Thanks!
Yes, I think I know very well rhe possibilities of the analysis bosrd and I'm also through of rhe specific openings. But now would be the time to sit down, play against the computer a specific opening and see how I'm doing. like at a real game against a human counterpart. I really don't understand why it should not be possible! Sometimes you play with the comp. it takes the opening you want. It should be so easy to choose from a scoll down menu which opening variation you wanna play. for a scilled programmer this should be a work of an hour. and for the student it would be an great advantage.
If you want to play a specific opening, you can do that with any chess engine. Set it to human versus human, play the opening variation you want it to play then change the opponent to computer.
This is basically the same as you were advised above.
Ok, I did it in nearly that way! Used the analysis board and there the "openings" button, then choosed move after moove from the menu. As I came to an end, I pressed the finish vs. computer butten (right bottom) and a new bord poped up and the computer played aganist me. Lucky I can say I won that game. ![]()
Its a good possibility I had not in mind, thank you! And I also think there is a possibility to save the wanted starting position (here Najdorf) and go in from that point with the computer. Nice Idea!
Hi!
I´m looking for a chess programm (or online platform) which plays on either side with specified openings. Lets say I would like to train my cababilities at the Najdorf Sicilian. I set it at the programm and it plays the opening for a specified number of moves (and then goes along with its own moves). When I plunder and make a wrong move, which does not belong to the specified opening the programm starts "thinking of itself". That would be very helpful, if one would like to become more praktice at an opening.
Maybe there is already such a possibilitie at chess.com but I did´n find it.
Thanks for help
