Chess Quotes

Hello. I am trying to find two chess quotes I remember having seen:

The first is a quote by Kasparov predicting that it would still be a long time before computers beat humans. I have found at least one version of this, but I am looking for the actual date he said it.

The second is a quote about observing computer tournaments. Something about how first players would watch to laugh and eventually watched in order to learn.

Dates and sources would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The first is "Inevitably the machines must win, but there is still a long way to go before a human on his or her best day is unable to defeat the best computer."

This was cited in a paper as well as several websites, and from what I can tell is from Kasparov's "How Life Imitates Chess" (http://goo.gl/tRu658). That appears to have been released September 25, 2007.

The second is by Monty Newborn, ICCA President from '83-'86, who said

""In the past Grandmasters came to our computer tournaments to laugh.

Today they come to watch. Soon they will come to learn."

At the 2nd World computer championship in Toronto 1977.
