Chess Rating

Does anyone know why my blitz rating is so much lower than my bullet and rapid? My bullet is around 1900, my rapid is around 1900, but my blitz just sits around 1700. I've been trying to get it to at least 1800-1900 before I start playing rapid more consistently, but it always seems to end up back in the same range.

What's weird is that I feel good in both bullet and rapid. In bullet, I can play quickly and trust my instincts. In rapid, I have enough time to think through positions and calculate. But in blitz, I feel like I play my worst chess. I either move too fast and make dumb mistakes or spend too much time and get into time trouble.

Does anyone else have a rating gap like this? Is there some skill that blitz requires that doesn't show up as much in bullet or rapid?

Your blitz is your highest rating big bro

Many people’s blitz is a lot higher than their rapid. I would say your blitz is probably lower than your rapid because blitz takes a different approach and playstyle compared to rapid. Your opponents at 1700 are probably much better than you are at blitz because it’s what they play most. You just need to play more, and play blitz-level moves as to not complicate the position and waste your time.

Blitz 3+0 is a bit easier than 3+2, the player pool is less strong imo
