Go to Learn, Puzzles(Tactics), and spend some time there. Go to Learn, Openings and spend some time there. Learn, learn, learn. You won't be a Beginner much longer anyway. Good luck. Try not to move a piece somewhere you know you will have to move it back, as you lose a move that way. Stay ahead. Develop your center. Learn more and play less. Playing is not as fun as winning.

Is there any inflation in rating system last 2-3 months? I have increased my rating by 100-150 points with no training and learning so much. I see Nakamura has reached 3200+, other players have 3000+ too.

How do you think?

Two-minute games and the likes can change a person's ratings very quickly.  Quite a few games can be played in a day.

Should there be a limit on how many points a person can move up in a day? They would say no, because they work hard for the abilities to play so fast.

When you learn new things your chess rating can drop down. while you testing it all out & stuff trying to get to grips with what you just learnt. Look at my rating bar it's been up & down like a Yo yo. I learn more new stuff & my rating will drop bad. But I always come back stronger bullet.png

. . . . . the only real test rating on a person's playing ability that is accurate is OVER THE BOARD PLAY

because ther r things we can do to give us an edge.  when positions got extra sharp, Beth Harmon (my fav' chess player of all time) would get up from the board during a tournament and splash cold water on her face in the restroom.  The Queen's Gambit - Walter Tevis

doesnt have the same effect when sitting at home in front of a computer happy.png

Join an open tournament.

There are groups devoted to live chess tournaments such as Untitled Tuesday. That group is open to anyone without a title, and the winners of the tnmts are almost always +2000 strength.

The rating on Chess.com in my opinion is 50% of the time overated, 40% of the time underated, and 10% of the time right
Avatar of move46

Rating is over-rated?

Avatar of ranu540

My opinion, yes

Like when you just start

Maybe keep the rating to itself for on board in person games, and just have points for online bouts? If you feel it wrong, what is your fix?
