Nice!
Chess rating system

I could be wrong, but I assume she's talking about blitz games. There are lots of people who are great blitz players but terrible in long games, and vice versa.
Very true, Fischer. I'm hopeless at blitz because I need time to think out a move pattern. Even 30 mins is sometimes too short. I believe there used to be championship games that took hours to make just one move. Not sure about this though. Still, I do think that in chess time should not be a factor. I sometimes win because my opponent ran out of time, and he'd be a good opponent, just likes to take his time. It's a pity to get your game cut off when you'd like to make a good close. Or when you're very close to a checkmate. It would be nice if chess.com adds an option for extra long games, such as an hour.
I have rating 1840 at the moment (Deep Fritz 13) and I'm still loosing games despite huge advantage. This makes me angry...

Hello all, how come i have now played 6 games and still no rateing? any ideas?
When you choose an "Open Seek" for your online chess games, make sure you choose Yes for the rated game option.
You may have already figured this out in two weeks, but this is the first time I've seen your question and figure it may save people newer to the site some time if they read it here before asking again.
When I first learnt to play chess we played with a chess clock which you clicked after each move. After the alloted time was up games were adjudicated. We were taught to go to the board knowing which opening you were going to play whether black or white and play your opening moves quickly so that later on you could "use" your opponents time as your "thinking" time. Winning on time is just as much a win as checkmate.

Hello World!
do you know about the credibility of rating system in this site? I mean for example when you play with a player rated 2000, is it equal to real players that attend at tournoments? or chess.com rating is lower(or higher) than standard and professional rating?

Chess.com ratings do not directly translate to FIDE ratings or any other kind of tournament rating. From experience, I find that ratings on chess sites are inflated.
Does anyone know where I can find a guideline of the ranking? For example, is 1200 average? What is considered good? What is the highest rank?
If you go to your homepage after you log in by your ratings should be a ranking of the site; For example you could be 31,009 out of 405,748 in blitz rating. The lower your number, the higher you are in the ranking. I'm sure there are other ways to find out who is the highest but I'm not exactly aware how one could do that (perhaps its a paid member feature).
