CHESS RULES

Hi all have a question for everyone.

I believe under the current rules if a game is adjourned to the next day then the player must make a sealed move. this move is then made by the arbitor the next day. IOf the sealed move is in fact an illegal move, then the game is awarded to the opponent.

Can someone please tell me many years ago there was a similar rule however if after a move was sealed and the next day it was found to be illegal the person was made to move the King. Can someone please tell me if this was a rule and when did they change this rule to the current rule. If you have the wording for the old rule it would be great.

thanks
