I was considering Chess Master 9000. That was one of the only programs I could find for Mac but then I read a lot of bad reviews for it. I splurged today and signed up for a year premium membership here. Thanks for the info.

Seconding what Kepler says above..  I'm a happy ExaChess owner; it's a fine database and 'toolkit' package.

It's not cheap but you can try a free version whose only significant limitations are on the number of games you can put in your own database and the number of databases you can open at once.

I keep my own games, of which there are thousands, in databases, along with other specialized databases that I use for training on tactics and endgames. I also use a selective batch of games as my openings explorer.

I don't need database software, but since I have it, I use it nearly every day.
