Chess Stalkers

What is anyone else's experiences of stalker opponents who hang around all the time just waiting for you to make a move. Do these people have nothing else to do 24-7 other than wait for an opponent to make a chess move. Its sad and worrying if this is the case.

They may be permanently online as part of their job - or able to access the web at any time from their mobile - without interfering with their lifestyle.

Or they may be using conditional moves (premoves).

maybe yes, just a bit unnerving, as soon as I make a move, they suddenly appear online to make their move. Its not conditional move as it would say if it was a conditional move. They aren't even playing any other games, just playing in this one tournament, quite creepy.

If you play on your cell phone the phone will notify you if you have to move.  I was travelling on vacation and to avoid time trouble I moved each time I was notified by my chess app.
you must admit it is better than me not moving due to my vacation.

Some guy died after playing video games non-stop for something like a week. There are more unhealthy addictions than chess but, like anything else, if it starts to interfere with your off-the-board relationships and job, you probably have a problem and should consult CAA.
