Chess Study Plan... please help!!!

Avatar of Chair-Circus

I'm wanting to improve my chess (I'd call myself an above average player; can beat novice fairly well) but I don't really know where to start studying...

Openings? End games? Tactics? Game analysis?

Do I focus on one area? Do I do something different everyday? Which books are best?

I need a study plan... any advice?

Tactics, tactics, tactics. Learn the underlying strategies and ideas behind the openings you play. Don't worry so much with theory yet, most players at your level deviate from theory pretty quickly. Knowing endgames helps tremendously, but it's not knowledge you'll figure out how to apply overnight. But, for the most part, concentrate on tactics.
