I could be incorrect, but if I had to hazard an answer I believe that it is largely dependent upon what time of computer you are using. Faster computers probably have stronger chess titans. Not necessarily massive differences, but probably noticeable ones. That's why even on those forums people were saying 1500-1700, and 200 points is already a significant swing. So I would imagine that your estimation is completely correct for the machine that you typically play on.
I think that when software companies have tournaments between various chess engines (this does actually happen) much ado is made about what kind of hardware is backing the software because it makes a pretty big difference.
What is the estimated elo of the level 10 difficulty "Chess Titans"?
I googled it and found a few forums claiming 1500~1700 and instantly thought that there's absolutely no way. I sometimes have difficulty beating the 1600 computer on chess.com and I must say that it's much stronger than the level 10 Chess titan. Not to mention the fact that it also moves a lot quicker. But yes, my estimation of it is around 1300~1400. Does anyone else have an estimation or am I just getting stronger? (lol)
Thanks.
