No, World Chess Championship is like World Series of Poker Main Event
Chess WCC Like Baseball World Series??

Instead of no draws, maybe draws don't add any points.
3 hour time limit?
Not sure about that.
Having draws not add any points wouldn't solve anything, since giving each player a 1/2 point has the same effect as giving each player no points.

Yeah, I like that idea--it might seem a little more like a Final Four and it could almost assume the same passion as the Fischer-Spassky showdown because people would be cheering for a team or country and it might attract many more players to the game.
Any way to boost interest in Chess by presenting the championship games in a 4-out-of-7 format like in Baseball? Seems the recent championships (not taking anything away from Carlsen/Anand) have been interesting but probably only to real chess enthusiasts. I was thinking if the WCC was shown a little bit like the World Series, meaning a 3-hour time limit, good commentary but not overdone, no draws allowed (is that possible?) and maybe some historical and biographical video added to the mix, people, even non-chessers, might really become hip to the game. I'm not saying big network presentation immediately but it could be started on a smaller market. I think a 7th Game broadcast would have a lot of viewers. Still, I'm not sure if draws could be eliminated since that's part of the game. I'm interested in other opinions! ??
