Chess will never be solved, here's why

I was happy to see the mods finally banned Dio the other day, presumably due to his engaging in antagonistic, bad faith debates with 4 people in that thread... all over separate issues. It was only a day ban, but it came after he'd been petitioning the mods throughout the thread to target his enemies. It raised my faith in this place a little bit at least.

Another bandwagon troll, that's 3 now...funny how you gather when you see a chance to attack under cover of others.

Notice how I don't assume Optimissed and ibrust are the same person on alt accounts. I afford them both their own agency for being who they are.

I will continue to respond but without trying to prolong (and in fact calling for it to end), and let's see how long it is until you all run out of bile and get tired of it.

please do this talk have topic ?

Dio and Opt can talk to each other private...both are off topic !

Back to topic ?

Why Chess is not solved ? (plenty of calculations ) And what is actually solved (gameplay)

soon if discussion is overiden by "Dear John" "love letters" from one to other , i am out...

do i get things about topic ,right?

This thread has been talked out. Don't even bother reading any pages past the first 20 or so. You will regret it. It's just people having to reiterate the same conclusion over and over for those that think they have some fluffy reason that chess can be solved, or is already solved, etc.

^ that image goes way beyond trolling, chess.com should contact that persons ISP along with the authorities of whatever country that person is in.

Oh, I can deal with you, it's just a question of whether you're worth the time. The more you speak... the less I feel you are.

But it's every single time I see you that you're locked in a keyboard battle with someone, isn't it? And yet... you're never responsible, according to you. It's always the other people drawing you in. How does that work? Do you have no agency?

Btw - You're not intelligent enough to intimidate people online like that. There may be a small handful of people on here with that ability, you're not one of them. ; )

More bile. You're running a distant second to the spammer, though. But the same basic motivators are in play.

There's no way I would wish to. I think he's just met his match, though.

Just a little. I heard it happened a while ago. There were extremely unpleasant images. Not something you should see.

Where have you been? It's the same spammer who has been hitting all the "hot topics" for weeks on end.

P.S. Kudos to mods/staff for the quick cleanup.

thanks to all for explaining what needs to be solved if it already is not with quantum computers..

But in my opinion gameplay is solved,

as AI can beat GM and Champions if they dare to play.

It will be nice to watch that match again ...

like famous Big Blue IBM against Kasparov

Kasparov won three and drew two of the following five games, beating Deep Blue by 4–2 at the close of the match.

maybe chess com can arrange some match of GM and chess com best engine,for charity

sure people will watch,i will pay the ticket to watch that! (just let it be a symbolic price)

so everybody can enjoy matches, watch, and contribute to good goals,

for example for children in warlike zones...let us pay for tickets to not dangerous areas, to at least a few children with mothers,

let us do some good!

that will be good move to made !

let those children's win!

That doesn't mean it's solved, that just means computers are better than humans.

SOLVED means that the best move is known, findable and provably best, for every possible position. Like Tic-Tac-Toe. You can go to any position and "Oops I Did It Again".

Endgames are solved, with up to seven or eight pieces on the board. You can put them anywhere and say "Hit Me Baby One More Time" because we know the optimal move to play, provably.

I wasn't a big fan of the Police, but I much prefer them to Yes or King Crimson.
