The trouble with that is I get outflanked around my Maginot line. But thanks anyway ;-)
Chessbase Equivalents...

You can convert chessbase files to a pgn from within chessbase by simply creating a pgn database and copying the games across; but to do that with megabase would take an eternity due to the quantity of games.

Thanks again Bronstein for the the link. It's useful for the database of my own PGN games.
From the Chessbase megabase. I can access a subset of games based on a player and convert to PGN - based on the free chessreader, but I can't see how a subset based on any other narrow search parameter can be done.
Does anyone have any ideas please ?
(I find the price of Chessbase itself far too expensive. Even if it was only £40 instead of £189 I would still hesitate to buy.)

Your english is too complex for me.
Do you want to convert cbh to PGN?
I guess youll have to take Coleman's approach and wait a day for the games to copy. Lol.

I agree with you, why the hell is chessbase so expensive?!??! Not like its their only product on sale, they can also win money with their DVDs lol.

Sorry. Thanks. Once converted, I wonder how quickly a six million PGN database performs compared to a six million CBH database in terms of access speed ?
Just wondering what the best (open source) equivalents are these days. I have the 2016 megabase but the free reader doesn't give the filtering and searching capability etc. What could I use to optimise my use of the megabase please folks ?
