Chessbase trial version?

So, I was looking into buying chessbase, as I recently started accumulating a bunch of OTB notation papers, and wanted it filed in a neat program on a laptop I can take to future tournaments, but I don't wanna waste a ton of cash on the program, unless i've tried it beforehand.

Are there really no trial version?

Just for reference, I'm not looking for other databases I can put my stuff in, just Chessbase for now happy.png

EDIT: For anybody looking for the same. Chessbase does not have a trial version. Good luck

Their Reader 2017 program is free and has some of the features and limited DB size. It's also pretty old at this point, so I don't know how similar it is to the newest version.

You can also try Scid Vs. PC, which is totally free.

He wants to store games Martin, and chessbase reader doesn't do that.

You can load PGNs in it and use some of the features.

They used to have Chessbase Light 2009.  The link for the trial version shown here (https://www.chess.com/forum/view/general/chessbase-light-downloadwhere?page=2) is still working.  However, the description clearly shows that you can only save games if you upgrade to the premium version.  The trial version does export to html, and it has a javascript reader, so it may be possible to use that as a workaround for the inability to save games. Also, the trial version has a limit of 32000 games.
