There are lots of free chess stuff on the web, some of it is good, some do not quite make the grade. I've seen and used a lot of these freebies and am now focusing my attention on the above website. It's completely free except that you need to pay to download games, up to a maximum of 9 million! What I especially like about it is that you can set up your persona; database of favourite games (based on my repertoire) which I can tap into. Be aware that it is not suitable for mobiles but is otherwise a great add to your list of sites to bookmark! A nice touch is that there is a pdf that you can download and which shows all the features of the websites - so rather than stumbling into new features, it's all there listed for your convenience.
