1000, why do you need more than one? :/ lol

kiwi-inactive

It would be hilarious if , IF, somehow more accounts were registered than the number of people on earth lol

chessplayer11

10,000,000? That's nothing compared to the number of AOL disks I got between 1995 and 2000.

kiwi-inactive

Ah AOL lol!!

kiwi-inactive

Is there an actual list of all the accounts open to the public to see?

alex-rider

really wow?

kiwi-inactive

7 billion of those accounts will be Nice-to-mate-you lol

RichieRRich

Yeah, but how many are multiples?  90%?  So maybe you have a million actual players at the very most, and most of those are under 1100 or hardly ever play.  Why do we keep seeing the same players over 1600 level?

We NEED a global party. We've got the venue, the forum. So we need people for music, food, security, parking, a podium for speeches from staff, famous members, clowns, magicians, sock-puppets. The night will start very tame and clean with manners. By the end we'll be drunk screaming, "Screw you Erik, we want our money back".

Some of us don't pay.

I would be one of them. Almost everything I get free: ebooks, music, videos...

Now I'm looking for free skates.

What happens if this site dips again below 10,000,000?  Will this thread slowly fade out, like in the movies?

varelse1

10M accounts

This includes 3M members, with 1 account each, and 7 trolls, with 1M accounts each.

RubiksRevenge

Even if there are many duplicates, the fact remains that Chess.Com has the most active members. When I started logging on frequently about 2 years ago (once they started making dedicated smart-phone apps for live chess)  I use to see a message that there were approx 5000 members logged on at any random time of the day, now that figure is close to 10000 which means that the chance of getting a game with the conditions you want is so much faster. Other online chess sites have only a fraction of that number and I don't see how any more start up servers could possibly make a dent or even scatch the surface of Chess.Com.

Rather odd that the 10 million mark didn't have as much fanfare as other million marks; I remember six and seven to have been quite the forum explosion.

hicks83

Agreed.

I posted about it yesterday, and had one response.

chessdragonboge

congrats chess.com!!! although srsly? it will be impressive when they get 10M active users

hahahahaaa,  I like varelse's math. 3 million trools with more than one account.
