Yes, this is a somewhat flawed computer system. This has happened to a friend of mine twice, luckily it's been re-opened on both occasions.

We weren't at the time. The people we were talking to got banned (again) and all their posts disappeared.

Now the thread looks kind of funny.

Interesting, kco. I'm fairly new to chess and hadn't realised that people get religious about openings. But now you point it out, it suddenly doesn't seem so surprising.
