I agree, this site needs better mating material vs timeout rules.
Positions like this white can just check the king a few random times even though it is a complete loss. I usually resign if I am losing even if my opponent has a couple seconds left.

It takes 6 bites to send a chess move to a server.
That is less than a second on the slowest old telephone line... yet on Chess.com you regularly sit and get mails or chat on Facebook while watching your minute to reconnect tick down and lose the game...
It is a joke.
One would be forgiven to start thinking the site's primary goal is to allow certain members an advantage and a higher rating than their skill level.
