Is there a way to play online chess here through a software that connects through the chess.com live server? I'm thinking something like playchess.com has? or do i have to use a browser ? it would save data when using a mobile hotspot to connect a pc to the Internet. The chess.com app for Android uses very little data.
Browser or mobile app are the only options.

Chess.com built their own software. It isn't something you can get.

Currently the API only gives read-only access, but there are future plans to give specific projects access to additional features, which would allow people to develop custom interfaces, etc.
