Chess.com you Twits!

Once again I find myself playing against a player who I shall name Mister Stockfish!

Every single one of his move are stockfish approved!

Chess.com your engine detections suck!

Do you idiots honestly believe these people can go undefeated using perfect stockfish moves on there own?

I mean really??

This is completely ridiculous!!!

X_PLAYER_J_X

Every single day I am playing against an engine.

I mean really what have I done to offend the chess world???

Is it Stockfish X_PLAYER_J_X day or something?

Why is it that I end up facing these pricks all the time!

Is it because I am one of the only few who still play long time controls on live chess?

Everyone given up??

AlCzervik

ffs, just report the player.

so much bitching about this here...

what are you expecting? others that will agree that cc sucks? cheats abound?

"i played yesterday and my opponent cheated"

waa. report the player. don't start a topic about it. 'ya know, it is possible to have a conversation with staff members about possible cheats.

Bitching here is quite all right. It's shameful when the effort of a long game goes to waste like that.

You put your time and effort, you want to improve your ratings.

The standard time control pool has to be monitored more closely. What's going on there is a shame.

It's not enough to monitor the 2000+ rated players in that pool - as the cheaters simply keep themselves below that threshhold by only cheating in some of their games.

There's nothing wrong with starting a topic thread, where a user feels that chess.com doesn't handle the problem well.

I don't believe that cheating is a widespread issue in the blitz pool - but in standard, it's very different.

X_PLAYER_J_X

AlCzervik why are you even commenting to me??????????????

You have no idea of what I speak of you twit!!!!!!

You can't even beat computer easy ranked 1,000.

And you have the nerve to tell me why I am complaining about a person using a engine ranked 3,000!!!!

It is completely obvious chess.com needs better engine detections.

solskytz

I had a standard time control game eleven days ago on this server, where my opponent played 17 straight moves, which were each Stockfish's top choice - moves ten to twenty six, inclusive.

After that he must have switched off the engine - as on move 27 he missed a mate in one, and only managed to beat me many many more moves later (but his position was already beyond crushing).

Cheaters don't necessarily use the engine in EVERY game. They also don't necessarily use them THROUGHOUT the game - they simply give themselves a boost.

A 1300 player can perform like a 1800, and he's happy with that - or a 2000+ player can suddenly "perform like a master", occasionally 'seeing' sequences that you wouldn't expect from anyone but the world's best.

X_PLAYER_J_X

Yeah it upsets me.

I was trying to reach 1900.

Chess.com says playing against engines will balance out.

However, it isn't going to happen if everyone you face is an engine.

X_PLAYER_J_X

I rarely get any standard games online.

When I do they are engine users.

When I go to like 10 min blitz games.

I sometimes get people.

However, still the engine users seem to take over there as well.

Chess.com needs to improve in 10+ and higher time controls.

I really hope they do something to improve people from getting situations like this.

AlCzervik

well, there is the redundancy of these threads about cheats. if a member feels that cc does not do a good job reducing cheating...they will simply leave.

i will not pretend to know what the difference is between blitz and standard when referring to cheaters.

maybe you're right, and staff needs to be more vigilant. but, therein lies the rub. much of the cheat detection has been offered by members.

i'm responding because this is a tired issue that is constantly brought up.

just report those you think have cheated. how easy is that? you can also discuss this in the cheating forum.

It is a shame, I have encountered cheaters, but by no means the majority of rapid games are played by cheaters, maybe 1/20 is a cheater IMO

You know, this past weekend I actually give in and installed droidfish. I actually beat it at 38%. Heh. The features were pretty cool too. Anyways, I'd been losing a lot lately and this app gave me confidence to create some open challenges.

For reason, I felt I should uninstall it for fear that people would think I was using an engine. Dunno why.

Although I am pretty naive in thinking that my opponent is not cheating, or boosting I can understand how you feel. I guess, what I'm saying is you can only control what's within your own world. I don't play competitively anymore, nor study religiously or play casually OTB. Soo I am comfortable with losing where I missed something, didn't open well or misplayed an ending. Also, ratings aren't as important for me. If they're cheating then I can only wish them well. They're not enjoying playing chess. Sad.

I am also trying to break 1900 by the way, only 10 more points... so close.

This man start topic about man who cheat, why you are so mad at him? He is good chess man player, no? In my country, Kazakhstan, it is crime against State to cheat at chess game, If caught, spend 20-year moving snow drift in Siberia. Very serious crime, worse than killing wife (only get 5-year, Siberia with ah hot coffee every day). When we catch, here in Kazakhstan, we eat the fishstock. Why you are always too mad for every body? Every body who play chess is nice guy, no? But not for cheater, here we kiss his ass all the way to Siberia.

gotta quote this to show others, and, maybe, you, what a tool you can be.

did you report the member to staff?

<kaynight>

ding

<X_Player> - I feel it... I was playing against that cheater with the same purpose - I also wanted 1900...

Look at the standard ratings of some strong players here - you'll see that it's exceedingly difficult to make and maintain a 1900 rating in the standard pool - and cheating has a lot to do with it. Pure frustration.

solskytz

<AlCzervik> yes I did. Of course. I always do when that happens.

I wrote a detailed report, explaining exactly how things went.

I got (as usual) an automatic response, telling me that the matter will be examined. In similar cases people did get banned.

In this case, however, it's been eleven days and the guy's not banned yet.

kco

it may take days, weeks, months or even years before they get banned.

as kco wrote, it may take awhile. i have zero idea how cheat detection works, but, cc only seems to ban when they are certain. again, i know little of how this is done.
