Now we will just have to download chess books from somewhere else.

Anyone knows exact reason for the shut down

@Snookslayer You can find a pirate version of pretty much any chess material online. It was just nicely organized and easy to find on chessindia.net.

Eu acompanhava sempre o site tinha muito material bom, tinha dia que caia e logo voltava, estou tentando entrar faz mais de 1 semana fora, devem estar acontecendo alguma coisa com o servidor, tomara que volta logo

It may have something to do with the internet changing hands Oct 1st. The U.S. doesn't own it anymore.

It is/was a pirate site because the books are the intellectual property of the authors/publsihers. But with the exception of a few noted classics that might now be in the public domain, they had all the recent releases. And I mean everything... ebooks, databases, engines and software. Apple discourages sharing purchased with friends but what are libraries if not shared information? I calculate that I need 3 months to thoroughly study a 300 page book from Quality or New In Chess. By my estimation, I would need to live to 240 years old to finish the books I already own. And I'm one foot in the grave already. Go figure.

It happened before, so I assume that there is some technical problem, as their twitter account hasn't said anything about that and keeps posting.

You can buy it legally. You will be supporting the author in his work. Obvious why it would be taken down.

Guys, come on, I need to upgrade my Samsung S5 for a Samsung S7, dont be too harsh on me for downloading illegal books.
America is battling the piracy sites hard now. kickass and thepirayebay are also got down lately. There is new era of no piracy as one might think its the right way to go.
