Chesskrieg (Dutch: Krijgen).

Rules, standard Chess-rules +

All pieces are Pawns, but have detachable accessories, like

The tower, the Knight’s horse, and the King’s/Queen’s crown.

Pawns, Queens and Kings are not replaceable by other pieces,

But if a pawn attacks a tower, the offending player rolls a dice

and if it lands on 2, 4 or 6 it may (or may not) become a tower.

If it lands on 1, 3 or 5 the Tower falls and ‘’the Tower-piece’’ will

Be destroyed.

If a Knight attacks a Bishop the and lands on either 2, 4 or 6 it may

Chose to either stay a Knight or become a Bishop (trading clothes).

If a Bishop/Tower/Knight attacks either a King, Queen or Pawn the

Attacking player must roll a dice, if it lands on either  1, 3 or 5 the

Attacking piece will become a standard-pawn, if it lands on either

2, 4 or 6 it will remain the aforementioned piece.

If a Queen would attack a Knight, she may take his horse if the

Attacking Queen’s player rolls the dice on an even-number

And enables the Queen to do the Knight’s special-move.

If the Queen is attacked by a piece other than either a Pawn or a

King, the attacking piece will be degraded to a Pawn.

The moral of the game is that everybody can be replaced (excluding

the King & the Queen), and is set to be a more ‘’realistic’ way of playing

the Millennia old game of Chess.

...or we could just leave alone a game that has been more successful and more popular than any other board game in history. And as the old adage goes, "If it isn't broke, don't fix it"

The king and queen change roles! The king is now the most powerfull piece! If the queen is taken, she isn't dead instead she is considered taken hostage! As long as your queen is taken hostage you can't move any of your pawns! If you kill the piece that took your queen then your queen is returned to her starting position(or the one left or right of it when already occupied) if the queen is returned you can move your pawns again.
