I'm not sure who deleted it, but it didn't bother me. But it is against the terms. We have had problems with people spamming competitive links. But this wasn't the case here. Anyway, not sure who edited it, but this was a benign case :)

OK, at the end of the day it does not matter, mission accomplished, thread destroyed :P
I understand your policy and it makes perfect sense to me, but as you said, this was not the case. And what is even more suspicious the one who deleted it is "unknown". Strange.
