ANALYSIS!!!
if possible you and someone higher than you couldn't find your mistake's.
Your win/loss is not just a factor of you, but also your opponents...if you are playing stonger opponents then you would expect to be on the loosing end...playing weaker opponents on the winning end...so you need to factor this in also at the post motem.
I have to admit my dirty mind conjured up various scenarios upon looking at the thread title
it's a chess website man
. lol your human though
.
I usually have "chess slumps" for a couple of main reasons:
1. I've been winning an inordinate amout and I take it for granted.
2. I'm very busy with other things that don't take as much thinking time as chess and I rush thru my chess games (I'm having a hard time with that right now - I stupidly entered a 24 hr. tournament against good competition and I'm getting killed :()
There are 2 ways, firstly you can play through it. This can be painful. Secondly, my way of dealing with the slump is to stop playing for a week or 2, just step back from the board, do something else. My hunger for Chess comes back and I always feel stronger. I'm probably still slumping during the 2 weeks but I wouldn't know because I haven't played any games to lose.
I just wanted to ask when you find yourself playing a little below average in you chess not like a losing streak but like say you played 5 game's two weeks ago and in that week you won 3 drew 1 and lost 1 you find yourself playing above average and the week before this week you played another 5 and your score was 2 wins 1 draw and 2 losses which means your playing average but this week the five you played the results were 1 win 2draws and 2losses so now your playing a little below average what do you do to pick up your slack.
