Clearly drawn games

Hi!  Has anyone else been in a clearly drawn K+P v K endgame, but the player with pawn refuses draw, winning on time?  Is there any way this can be disencouraged?  My honour makes me offer draws on the K+P side, while my opponents unfairly win in the opposite situation.  This has consistently annoyed me.  Anyone have any idea how to change this dishonourable practise?

Play at longer time controls. Play with an increment.

If you are playing blitz, with no delay or increment, this is part of the game.

it's not unfair, It's part of the game. "Honor" doesn't exist by the game's logic. Winning on time is considered just as legitimate as checkmate according to the rules. Sure it's annoying, but that's the game.

You can accept that it's part of the game and start playing to win, or you can continue to lose/draw because of your imaginary honor. If you don't like those choices, then play with an increment.

I agree - it's part of the game. If no rule is violated like 3times same move etc. and you loose on time sorry, but that's the deal.

Another point of view might be that the faster opponent used less time and So he probably missed better moves earlier in the game. You must find a balance between time-optimized play and quality-optimized play!

Yes, winning on time when you are down material or in a situation that would be drawn at a longer time limit is part of speed chess and not unethical.  If you do not like this--play fast time limits or change your style of play when playing speed.
