I'll wait until you experience this illegal movement of pieces, then we can chat.

Has anyone else noticed the clock/timer being manipulated by their opponents?

Of course, I had today 2 manipulations in one game...

Lag aside, I’ve played 70,000 games on here and I have never once seen ‘illegal movement of pieces’ so not sure what that’s all about.

Me neither I just get invisible pieces occasionally

In any case, it is the "Illegal" and "Manipulation" of chess matches, most likely because it is their website and they (the owner and writers of the website) feel that they have the right to run chess matches as they see fit.

...

Show some examples. I don't believe I have seen anything like that that wasn't a very short term bug

Your paying members can win with your help by cheating in one minute chess but, it is only a matter of time before I am able to beat them.

Sooner or later, they will ask the question as to why they are paying for a membership to a chess-website that is not delivering them a win by cheating.

Lagg is an excuse that is used too often. Check the comments from other players and you will see, that they are not pleased with the situation either and, not all of them are novice players.

This is the stupidest thread why would a cheater take the insane amount of effort to hack into chess.com’s servers and just use it to manipulate the clock when they could just use stockfish and win on the board not by time
HernanCacciatore1

I'm not sure, about the different servers and how they interact with programs... many things that a user cannot control. The Internet is complex and you can have a server running well and suddenly worse than other day .When player watch he can't play at the same speed of rival is exhasperant.Im not saying what is the cause.Neither how to solve but trying to return to normality searching possible solutions.Apparently browsers can affect it, but I'm not 100% comfortable with anyone. Just work good temporarily.

OutOfCheese

Yeah thread full of people not listening, not understanding what "server side" means, insisting clock manipulation still possible...

What a clown fiesta
