Clueless Chessplayers

yeah. 60% normal people, 39% weird people. 1% understand it and what's left is your amazing brain. @macer

Wow... that was deep! And I suppose it was intended to be a compliment, so thanks!

you are welcome. I got it from a Dilbert comic strip.

It's actually an insult. 60+39+1=100. And what's left is your "amazing brain." Although it may not be intended as an insult to you.

Macer takes everything as a compliment.

It all depends on the definition of understanding you are referring to. I have met people who would rank bottom in a chess tournament, but they understand the rules. Chess masters are good at it, but do they really know all there is to know? Chess is an infinate game, bigger than itself. With all the rules in place, anything can happen. It's a game where we all move, and analyze to try to anticipate the opposing side's move in order to win. There are some people that say that the key to winning is staying one step ahead of your oponnent, and I don't disagree. The topic is discussed on this article on Chess.com: (http://www.chess.com/blog/SonofPearl/is-chess-a-game-of-chance) So technically, I understand. All of us (hopefully) do. But are we the masterminds behind the game, or simply pawns?

Then you're a pessimist, not an optimist. the classic example of an optimist is someone who sees the glass as half full. But of course, that's not a very realistic example, because people don't spend all day thinking about glasses. One way in which I'm an optimist is that I see my brain cavity as half full.
