co-worker ardent in selling me chess pieces

Maybe it is my fault. Probably too nice. I bought chess pieces from my co-worker early last month. Now it is becoming a habit. He is originally from the Caribbean and is a good sales person, nice person. But, he is pressuring me to buy his pieces. How do I go along with this? I don't want to buy his pieces at this time. And I don't want him to know that I don't want to buy them permanently.

My supervisor thinks we are dealing with cellphones.

Um, just tell him you have all the chess equipment you need right now? It isn't any harder than that.

Not with these pieces.

A teachable moment - learning to say no to people. The sooner you learn it, the better.

But the thing is, I don't want to say no.

We have saying in China, "Man who cooks with too many pots spoils a pot."

Tell him, "Hey Caribbean dude!!! Lay off!!! Be a man, let me focus on this one chess board.

After that, if he asks again, throw noodles in his face until the police show up. This is the Chinese method.

Yeah, I surely wouldn't want to be called a noodle face.

OK, now I think you're just trolling me. I'm gone. (See how easy it can be?)

How do these chess pieces make you feel?

I like the chinese method best. Maybe you should threaten him with your chopsticks!

You can tell your co-worker that you play lots of online chess too, so you don't need the pieces. Its a good excuse and as you do play online it isn't a lie!
RALRAL3333
Oh wait you haven't played a single game on your account so we don't know if you do play online.

Spend more time with your boss. This way, when he offers the chess pieces again it will be during working hours and the boss will see it. You could taunt him like saying, "Yes, I want to buy more, but you see we are at work and can't talk about it. Talk to me later about it." Like that guy in Office Space, make sure to leave work without him seeing you leave.

Sir, you don't quite understand the situation. I started working there 5 months ago, after my company closed.. I don't think hanging around the superviser would make much difference. The manager is not around after hours. This occurs after the manager leaves. He would find me either way

Well, you're a donkey crevice bigot.  Just act like you do online and he will never talk to you again.  Go away.

That would make me out to be a liar. Can't do that.
