Comment if you agree that Magnus and fabi shouldn’t have drawn

At the press conference, it was suggested more game. Suggestion: ole timey time controls (i.e 40 in 2 hours; next 20 in one hour, etc), flat classical, no increment. If score tied after 12-18 games, champ retains title. Discuss:

I apologize, my Norwegian is getting rusty.  Now I remember!  "Magnus" translates to "spineless jellyfish."

If they played 24, just as they used to, one of the two would have won a game.

Determining who will be the world champion through a tie-breaker process is sad.

magnus is guy who, if win in blitz, will be 4-5 years period champion without any single effort made. see what kind of effort one challenger has to make only to reach the match. i was his supporter last years but this is too much, to poor.

I think people and specialy Americans are frustated but the truth is Caruana at his best just equals today’s Carlsen in that format. Unfortunatly for him for some reasons he’s less skilled in more intuitive format. If he gets the edge with better nerves that will makes him deserve the title for a couple of years. But if not, that means he was just not good enough all around. 

No one is  upset with Caruana. People seem to be mad at Carlsen.

I think the solution is a tiebreak of drinking beer

Magnus shamed himself and hurt the game of chess with this game 12. If he's the GOAT as all these sad fan-boys keep saying, he could have won that position with the huge time advantage he had. His legacy is tarnished. Pretty bad title defense agains Karjakin two years ago, 12 draws this year. No way is that kind of performance GOAT worthy.

At least he strapped on a pair and defended his title (3 times now), unlike certain other World Champions that could be mentioned  who are also a doubtful GOAT.

How about this: if all tied up after 12 games, they do shots of Jack Daniels, standing. The first one to fall down, loses.

I guess we will know in 24 hours, if the draw offer was a good decision, or not.

My thought was "Wow, Carlsen looked at the situation and asked himself if he really wanted to win the world championship due to a lack of time on his opponent's clock, or did he want to win by outplaying his opponent? "  He showed good sportsmanship by drawing the position.

So naive.

Rapid chess games are won due to lack of time on their clocks.

The time element is a part of winning or losing at chess...if Magnus was ahead in time, that's presumably because he was out-thinking his opponent.

What a bunch of rubbish! Magnus want's to win on HIS TERMS. Winning on time is not how he want's to win. He want's to legitimately beat him by resignation and that's exactly what's going to happen. Who cares about the draws. When the best players in the world to head-to-head, there's going to be a lot of draws. It's David vs Goliath. Look how close their FIDE ratings are. They're nearly tied. Being the GOAT isn't necessarily about winning; it's about not losing. So far, Fabi hasn't been able to prevent that from happening.
