Completing Passport - is it allowed to play a friend who constantly changes their country?

I found this old discussion, which pretty much explains the best way to obtain all passports the right and the most fair way. But let's say, that I wanted to get all the passports in a cheeky way, if I play a friend who constantly changes their country, to get all the rare countries (like North Korea or Faroe Islands for e.g.) until I get all of them. Is that allowed? Because I can't find a rule where it says that it isn't.

It'll probably be fine if you do

justbefair

You can do it but you will feel shame whenever you think about it for the rest of your life.

You probably won't be banned for this but what's the point in getting them all by cheating? You can easily get all the passports you're missing fair and square, I've described how to do it here: https://www.chess.com/blog/nerlin/how-to-get-all-the-passports-achievement-award-badges

So your method is mass spamming dozens of people with game challenges? What a terrible idea. This is much worse than what you call "cheating".

Duuuude... I've only sent challenges to an average of 3 people per country. I challenged players of a similar rating to mine and played all the games fairly: I didn't stall, quit or cheat in any way. That's what "Challenge" option is intended for in the first place. How is that spamming? And how is that worse than lying about being from a different country than you actually are just to get a badge which was intended for people who've played users who are actually from that country?

i suppose it is but if you get them all by cheating then there is no point to doing it. that is like wanting to become a grandmaster but using an engine against your opponents (which IS not allowed, so dont do it)

If there's anyone it the future reading this, then I completed the flag quest the ordinary way: by sending requests to people from specific countries, and it feels very fulfilling rather than cheesing it with my alt account. Now I got a bunch of foreign friends who keep wanting daily chess rematches against me happy.png

Good idea, a while ago I did like to made a forum called „Do you want all passports?”, and change my flag always, but I was afraid of moderators.

*wait what will happen if you make your freind change his country to a country with which you havent played and then you get all the countries and all the passport acheivements??

willlike chesscom ban you or something else?????*

colinscratchcat

I think so

I don't see why it would be against the rules.

Bear in mind that when you make "Achievements" too easy to get, it de-values them to the point that they are no longer any sort of achievement.

What would a Nobel Prize be worth to anyone if all you needed to do was ask for one?

Good point.

#11 they won’t ban you, it’s not against the rules, it’s just stupid

If your going to get the passports not legitimately, then their not even awards technically
