Why is the computer so weak up until level 8 or so? Level 7 is supposedly 1600, but plays terribly. Maybe it's just the way it chooses moves to try to behave more like an amateur, but I dunno. Chess.com should really find another engine to use. Even Scidlet set at 1500-1600 doesn't play THAT bad. Maybe Arasan, Pawny or one of the other non-Stockfish/Komodo engines out there tuned to different levels. Even Crafty would be a good option. Dunno, just my observation and opinion, cheers.
