Nope.
Computer Lies
One time I was playing a game against the computer and checkmated him. I went back one move and pressed the hints button like I always do. For some strange reason, the computer said to capture a pawn which will not checkmate. I pressed the button again and it still urged me to take that pawn. I started getting suspicious thinking it was trying to delay mate for a few moves. Did anyone encounter this?
the problem with the hint button in chessmaster
is that it immediately comes up with a best move and that move may not be the best. it is not deep at all.
no matter if you wait 5 hours it will never change that hint.
I guess the hint will only look 3-4 moves ahead
try looking at mentor lines instead. that will change the best move all the time.
With the greatest of respect, in order for you to be beating the computer, perhaps you have the level of the computer set quite low, so that it's not playing at its best. It could be that the hints it offers are at the same level that you have set the computer to play at.Â
