Computer Vs. OTB while reading

I know its probably purely preference, but does anyone have some input on whats better for studying games out of books like Logical Chess Move By Move when it comes to playing the games on an actual board vs. doing it on a computer? I feel like sometimes I don't focus as much when doing it on the computer cause its easier to move quickly, but sometimes I'm just too lazy or tired to get my set out every time.

Always set up a real board and pieces when studying.  You should only use online boards, and pieces when you have to.

Board is good because it helps you slow down, and you're adding a kinesthetic sense to the process.

It's also good if you plan to play OTB because you'll be accustom to calculating using a real 3d board in front of you.

If there are many long variations I like to put it into a chess UCI so I can easily move back and forth between them and notice differences or explore my own variations.

Whatever method you use, be sure to pause at least a few times per game and look at the position on your own briefly. Which side do you like? Why? What would your candidate moves be if this were your game? Then continue reading. If you're not engaged in some way then it's just moving pieces around on a board or screen and that doesn't really help.

Also...My coach told me that if i cant solve an online tactic in 3 minutes, set it up on a real board and pieces.  Its amazing the difference in what you see on a real board compared to what you see online.

Sounds stupid to me... Maybe you were on drugs or something. What makes you feel such a difference when solving a puzzle?!
