Conflict between Magnus & I at the London Chess Classic

The tension started to build between Magnus and I shortly after this tournament was put together

He wasn’t at all happy with me or the tournament & he wasn’t invited. 

That didn’t bother me at all as…..

I was used to confrontation. I had looked down the barrel of a gun in my time. Magnus didn’t scare me…..

…on the board or off the board 

If he thought I would be monkeying around, he would have another thing coming. Been there done that….

Yeah that is right….

So onto bumping into Magnus at the London Classic last week. As we stared at one another from across the room

Probably one of the reasons his early play was not at its best. I was psyching him out with my cold psycho stare and the game we had played together the week before must have been haunting him 

I must admit my dress code was not up to its usual standard when we faced off. I was excited, patriotic even….

We had some unusual looks from the audience too 

None of it bothered me like it did Magnus. Now…….

But when you are channelling one of the greats of all time…….

You can be assured that your delusions and illusions of grandeur are taken as they are meant…….in jest. Therefore……. 

And at this time of year, wish all members and staff at chess.com 

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and……. 

With more controversial tournaments and hideous humour next year
