And that wasn't the only instance when Magnus exhibited a non-gracious personality.

I was referring to the after tiebreak exchanges which were as classy as can be. His behaviour after the loss was not a proud moment for sure but hey, we all have our moments. The top players all have their egos no doubt. He wasn't dissing Serge though, just pissed at the reporters. Honestly, who can blame him. In his mind, he might have just lost the title at that point, and a ton of money.

May I remind you what you had posted?  "Both players were extremely gracious in victory and defeat..." - I just proved you wrong.

Yes, we all have our moments, but Carlsen didn't only have this moment, he's proved time and time again his lack of graciousness. He even had a sour face when responding to little children's questions, and gave boring, dismissive replies.

Carlsen now WC in rapid chess, sadly enough.

Imagine Carlsen won the WC title in the sudden death match, he would be WC in Armageddon! Laughing

I explained what I mean't and well, what can I say, you've got a bone to pick and that's ok. No need to prove anything. If I were you, I'd focus more on improving your rating. I enjoyed the chess. You are more concerned with dissing Carlsen and fighting with me. It seems your not so classy yourself. The commentators and news media concured that their after tournament exchanges were professional, courteous and even humble. Carlsen stated repeatedly that the match was so close and won by the slimmest of margins. Perhaps he has a little growing up to do, so you both have something in common. I will admit that Serge seems like a real gentleman and wish him all the best in the future.

Look, I care for the truth, and what you said was untrue, ok?

I simply corrected a mistake you made, no need for all that babbling

Yeah, Carlsen won in the rapid playoff, but before the match Karjakin's rating put him just outside of the top 10... which is to say, in the end, the correct player (the best player in the world) won the match.

Rapid rating, you mean?
I mean classical. Karjakin was outside of the top 10 on the (live classical) rating list before the match started.

Because otherwise a drawn match is clearly not the 'correct result,'
The correct result was that Carlsen retains his title is what I'm saying. The many draws were partly an artifact of the poor (IMO poor anyway) choice of a short (12 game) match.

If you figure they should just call off tournaments and decide things by ratings instead
I guess you mean to say matches, not "tournaments." But yes, that's one way to do it, because rating accurately shows who has preformed better against their peers as long as they play often and against a variety of players. Carlsen has advocated for a world chess championship double round robin format for example.
then alright, but Kasparov (or rather a machine) would be on top.
This doesn't really fit in with your point (computer dominance is not dependent on time control or format) and also doesn't fit in with my point (the world champion title holder is also the best chess player... of course human player is implied here).

I believe Karjakin was #9 on live classical rating list before the start of the match.

I thought he was 11. I may be wrong.

He was rated roughly 100 points below Carlsen though.
