I would recommend trying to get to around the same rating on all of the time ranges. I think it works better. For example play blitz games until you reach your rapid rating.

SO TODAY I reached 1300 rating in rapid. Should I continue on playing rapid until I get to 1500 or switch to blitz and try to reach 1200?
