Intelligence without motivation doesn't do anything much less do evil. Anthropomorphizing AI is silly.
AI can be a big threat when used by humans though, sure. For example if you could do 20 years worth of research in a single weekend, and you have it develop weapons.
The whole point of AI is that it does not need a human to operate it. If a human is operating an advanced AI system then that system is not AI
