Corruption in Chess Larry Christiansen vs Alex Shabalov - Round 8 US Seniors Championship.

Las Vegas odds had Shabalov at 10 to 1 to win as black in round 8. Larry Christiansen was leading the tournament playing really well. Most expected him to win and he gained an advantage right out of the opening (close to a winning advantage) and then something mysterious started to happen. Just before time control, Larry C played some odd moves and gave away his advantage, but the best was yet to come!!  After reaching time control, Larry proceeds to blunder four out of his five next moves. Specifically, This is what he played: 41 Rf1+?? (Blunder. Ng6+ was best. 41.Ng6+Kf7 42.Re1) 42 Ng6+ ?? (Blunder. Nd7+ was best). 44. Ne7 ?? −2.1 (Blunder. Ne5 was best). 45. Re2?? -3.9

You realize that Larry is 66-years-old, right?  It is quite possible that he was simply exhausted by the time they reached the first time control.
