Crying during a game is unprofessional (I can still recall Kamsky sobbing during the last game of the candidates match against Topalov). However, sometimes it's hard to abstain from crying after the game.

I find it equally difficult to abstain from crying almost every move I makeWink

crying in chess? it is a waste of water if you ask me. if you lose, bite the bullet and get on with the next game. you win some, you lose some. it is not the end of the world............

Why would you cry at the end of the world? Better to cry about a chess game. It may be the perfect tactical ploy at the right moment. At the end of the world you may need the water you would be wasting on crying. If you cry before the end of the world, just get some more water. No big deal. Flawed advice from thegreatarch.

Why would you need water at the the end of the world?

Well, I was thinking of radiation contamination, but I guess there are scenarios where this may not happen, or you may be dead, or there is far too much water--floodSmile

Slick your hair back before you meet your maker, best to make a good impression.

You need to work on tactical crying, richLaughing

@ trysts

Not sure water would be very helpful at the end of the world, regardless of what causes it.

@ Prawn

Gel holds better than water.

If you have survived and want to continue? The "end of the world" can be considered more things than just the earth disappearing.

So then it wouldn't really be the end of the world, would it?

For examples consult Hollywood.

Possible apocalyptic events destroying most people on earth:

nuclear war

conventional war

disease

drought

robots

For all of these, you would want to conserve water.

ThreeNailz

LOL, I'm just messing around.

pdela

robots?

There again, you wouldn't be talking about the end of the world. But I still don't think water would help much in these events either.

ivandh

Yes. The machines will become able to move without instructions from humans. Then they will destroy us for reasons we do not know.

Water is good because it rusts their metal and shorts out their wiring.

It is well known, pdela, that robots may cause the end of the world. Don't you get newspapers in Spain?

Probably cyborgs or terminators, although the laser that #5 had would be devastating in mass.

pdela

You need water to short circuit the robots
