Daily chess - can I use a board

Is it legal to have my real chess board set up, and to move pieces to check different variations while playing daily chess , or should I just do it in my head without any aid?

I think it’s fine as long as you don’t consult an engine

That should be ok since you also can analyse the board here when play daily. But try to get into the habit to make the moves in your head even when you use a board. When you then have done your analysis you can move the pieces around on the board to see the result
