Could be that the apps hit the daily puzzle a different way before then?

There could be a bug in the code which counts it, or they could be padding stats, which is more likely.

So great to see chess.com's hard work of finding good puzzles is not going into vain
The numbers posted show how many people are solving the Daily Puzzle.
967,323 for the puzzle the other day.
/ So how come the numbers jumped that high from only 5,000 or so per day through the first half of the year? Only 5,166 for June 2nd. All the numbers for June and May were in that range.
/ You can go through the numbers every day and it appears there was a big jump in August.
