Dead chess

One thing thats always intrigued me, is why a chess match between all the world greatest chess players, who are now longer with us: Capablanca; Fischer; Morphy; Alekhine; Lasker or Staunton... etc... Has never taken place?

The games could be played out through a clairvoyant and relayed onto a giant screen. This could be the biggest event to happen in chess since the Deep Blue - Kasparov games of the 1990's.

"Dead Chess" would provide an interesting contrast to the chess.com "Live Chess" option. I understand chess.com is working on an alternative to "turn-based chess" too. I'm not sure what not taking turns would look like.

Time travel would eliminate the need for an intermediate. I suspect Fischer might still present problems for the organizers.

Haha, cute idea, but honestly, the less encouragement we give to publicity-seeking clairvoyants, the better! The idea would certainly attract bullsh*t-peddellers of the highest degree.

If it were possible, it would be interesting to see how Morphy would rack up against today's players, or even strong players who followed him.

Oh, and Fischer woud DEFINITELY be a problem! :P He'd probably suspect a government conspiracy, or more likely... a Jewish conspiracy :o
